Friday 3.28.2008

Just wanted everyone to know that I'm doing a in-the-round evening at Workplay this Friday. Eliot Morris, Drew Holcomb, and Ryan Horne will be playing as well and it's a honor to share the stage with these writers and friends. If you don't have plans come out and have a beer and listen to some music.

p.s. Micah Dalton will not be on this show unlike the poster says.

run-through march 20

in case you missed the email:

several of us are having a "run-through" practice on THURS march 20 at bekah's @ 7 pm -- so if you would like to join us, please do!

here are three reasons you should come:

1. it will be the perfect opportunity to refresh details of previous practices.
2. other people will be there to give positive & immediate feedback.
3. grey haven people are friendly. they also dress well and typically have a great sense of humor.

from everything i've heard, i think that the music is coming together really nicely for this show. i think it will be great.

there will be a PA with 3 mics, drums, & bekah's keyboard available.

if you need more info, just email me -- tamaradean@gmail.com.

Ambient-mellow

Greetings all,

I thought I would share an ambient track that I put together recently. It is non-developmental in melody, mellow in character, and blatantly eighties in tone.
Feel free to play it as background music as you go about your busy day.

Rough sketch of a song

This is definitely a work in progress. I'm sure the lyrics will change a bit, and I'm not sure how I feel about the vocals on the chorus... I think it's kind of cheesy, but we'll see. It will also one day be completely rerecorded with actual instruments. Let me know what you think.

what about kids got the disco?

It's on the same night as the Greyhaven show on the 21st.... at bottletree.... it's the dance party with DJ Nastique and Charles III.... they're fellow members of the birmingham music scene...it's kinda sad that we'll be divided... is there any sort of way to come together with them on this thang?.... probably not for that night....but maybe for the future.....just started thinkin about it... this isn't very directed....

Nothing But A Fire

So, as my first post to this community I wanted to share some music.

This is a songs called Nothing But A Fire and it's coming out on my new record slated to drop (hehehe) on 4/22.

Lyrics:
Nothing but a fire
Nothing but a fire burning out
and burning slow

I used to see a blue horizon
Used to see a blue horizon
now the sun's getting low

It's a long way to fall
No matter how you try
maybe...
this is how it goes
we're never satisfied

I used to be a hopeful dreamer
Just another hopeful dreamer
now I'm waking up

I wonder if your love can save me
I wonder if your love can save me
and will it be enough

It's a long to fall
no matter how you try
maybe...
this is how it goes
we're never satisfied
you bend, you break, you show
who you are inside.

hope you enjoyed the song on multiple levels.
